• Bashed a media house on 14^th September 2014, the Times of India tweeted, “OMG: Deepika Padukone’s cleavage show.”

After it, Deepika bashed at TOI’s tweet for this inappropriate heading and tweeted. “Yes I am a woman, I have breasts, I have cleavage. You got a problem?”

She also received support from both fans and film fraternity, after the TOI published a report and a photo dedicated to actress’s cleavage. Later, the story was removed from Twitter.

• Making Derogatory Comments on Actor After her breakup with the Indian Actor Ranbir Kapoor, she commented on Ranbir on the TV chat show ‘Koffee with Karan’ that he should endorse a condom brand. She made a few other demeaning comments on Ranbir.
• Violated Code of Conduct after her marriage with Ranveer Singh, an Italian Sikh group alleged that Sikh Code of Conduct was violated in their Sindhi-Punjabi wedding.
• Row Over her comments at JNU. On 7^th January 2020, she joined the JNU vigil, in which many students were injured in the JNU hostel attacks, to show her support and condemn the brutal attack on JNU students that happened on 5^th January 2020. While she was in town for the promotion of her film “Chhapaak” and visited the protesting students at JNU to express her solidarity against the JNU attack, she said, “I feel angry that this is happening. At the same time, it is matter of concern that action is not being taken.” She received both negative as well as positive comments from netizens with the hashtags ‘boycottchhapaak’ and ‘IStandwithDeepika’ trending simultaneously on Twitter.
• Accused of consuming drugs on 21^st September 2020, Deepika Padukone’s name appeared in drug probe into Sushant Singh Rajput’s death by the NCB. Some news channels indicated her involvement in the drug racket in Bollywood based on WhatsApp chats from October 2017. In the chats, a ‘K’ and a ‘D’ are discussing drug supplies with Sushant’s former manager Jaya Saha: ‘D’ asking for ‘maal’ from ‘K’ who replies that she has it, but it is at home. ‘D’ also the clarifies that she needs ‘hash’ and not ‘weed’ as they plan to meet up at a restaurant. Later a video of the Indian producer Karan Johar went viral in which a few Indian celebrities including Deepika were accused of being high on drugs in the video.
